What's For Dinner?

Father's Day What's For Dinner

It's Father's Day! So today is Jamison's pick! We're having pulled pork, potato skins, corn on the cobb and a salad for Alexis and I.

What are you having this Father's Day??

Oh and Happy Father's Day too all you fathers out there!

I shop at a market that is very similar to Whole Foods (minus the high prices) called Trader Joe's. Anyway they sell simmer sauces that have Indian, Italian, Spanish seasonings. I like to buy them and then doctor them up. I bought an Indian sauce that I will first brown tofu, then add the sauce, garbanzo beans, and spinach. Trader Joe's also sells plain and garlic naan bread in the frozen aisle in a resealable bag. I always keep that in my freezer, so I will pull out a few slices of the garlic naan to mop up the sauce as we eat.

Oh yeah, and I cook white basmati rice in the rice cooker. I put the Indian mixture on top of the rice with buttered garlic naan on the side. I love pulled pork with cole slaw and corn!!!!

I'm making a lentil-quinoa "meat" loaf, roasted baby potatoes, broccoli, and a salad.

There is a Trader Joe's near my sister. She loves Trader Joes! There is a market near me called My Organic Market that is a local company here in the DC/VA/MD metro area, that is much like Trader Joe's price wise and they have the same sort of stuff. I like Trader Joe's, I've just never lived close enough to frequent one on a regular basis. I used to love Whole Foods, but when food prices went up so much it was just too much, plus it's much like TJ in that it's too far away to frequent often. The last time I was in a WF was probably February.

I love "meat" loaves! I've never tried one with lentils though, but that sounds fabulous!
