Happy Memorial Day!
Today is the day that we stop and remember those who are, and have served our country, especially those that have paid the ultimate price. Our traditional form of celebration often involves food, as it often does.
Today we are having some people over for an impromptu celebration. We're having BBQ ribs and chicken, baked chicken legs with rosemary and thyme, baked beans, potato salad, deviled eggs, spinach artichoke dip with cut vegetables, squash casserole, yeast rolls and for dessert we're having gluten free cake, apple pie with a crumb topping, brownies and homemade vanilla ice cream.
How do you celebrate and what are you having?

Sounds delicious! I'm going to a "salads and sundaes" potluck -- one person is bringing greens and ice cream, and everyone is tasked to bring their favorite toppings for each! I'm bringing candied walnuts (good for either) and I think dried cranberries and maybe sliced strawberries. I was going to bring baguettes from Panera but now I am thinking about bringing your yeast rolls (although I don't have a stand mixer, so I will have to knead them by hand.

Your menu sounds delicious! We're having burgers with homemade buns (not sure what recipe yet) and oven fries. I'm thinking of making cobbler and vanilla ice cream for dessert, since I have a ton of fruit (raspberries, blackberries, peaches).

I'm baking my yeast rolls now. They smell so heavenly! I love that smell of yeast!
I thought about making cobbler too, but decided on pie at the last minute because I had a crust that needed to be used. I hope you have a fun day!
